This research aims to provide an overview of how respondents use and utilize Circles UBI to meet their daily needs. As a Pilot Project, this research is designed to quickly understand the conditions of respondents before and after they use Circles UBI. Does the presence of Circles UBI have a particular impact on its users or not? Circles UBI is a platform for sharing and exchanging value (points) among users which contains elements of mutual cooperation, mutual assistance, and social solidarity. Circles UBI also introduces a new way of implementing the concept of Universal/Unconditional Basic Income (UBI). The combination of Blockchain technology and UBI is the first pilot experiment in Indonesia conducted in a measured and systematic manner. However, there are still many challenges and limitations to this experiment, such as the short experimental period and the use of the beta version of the Circles application which still needs a lot of technical development. Despite the limitations mentioned above, the preliminary results of the Circles UBI Pilot Project in Denpasar, Jembrana, and Tabanan could be one of the references and foundations for conducting other social innovations that are larger and have a positive impact on the welfare of society in Indonesia, and even the world.
